3.5-inch Root Warrior
Small Space Savior!Perfect for Orchids and all flowers such as tea roses and nearly every herb you can imagine, the 3-inch Root Warrior (104mm x 113mm) brings water and oxygen balance to the root zone. Mechanical aeration also minimizes the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The 3-inch Root Warrior is designed to fit into 3 to 7-gallon plant containers with a height of at least 8.0 inches and multiple Root Warriors can be placed in window boxes. It will work effectively in any container material—plastic, clay, ceramic, wood, or metal. Simply place the Root Warrior over the plant container's drain hole and plant normally.
Water moves upward from a saturated zone to unsaturated zone by exfiltration or evaporation from the upper layer of soil. For this reason, the Upper Reservoir holds 0.5 fluid ounces of water that keeps the surface soil moist. Surface moisture helps reduce transplant shock and assists in the early development of a vigorous root system.
The Lower Reservoir's volume is 4 fluid ounces. The reservoir redistributes moisture recharging the soil by capillary rise due to the change in surface tension to maintain Field Capacity for longer periods between watering. Field Capacity is the ideal balance between water and oxygen that enable the plant's root systems to overcome water tension and absorb soil water and nutrients—conductivity that triggers metabolism, which is a triad of transpiration, photosynthesis, and respiration. In short, the proper balance of water and oxygen contributes to healthier, more productive plants.
Nutrient Channels are located in the Lower Reservoir to collect minerals and nutrients that leach from the soil during watering and to keep them available for the root system of the vegetation to absorb. Consumer interest in nutrient-rich vegetables involves providing the plants with at least 16 elements. While the non-mineral elements of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen are supplied by air and water, the primary nutrients of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium; the secondary elements of calcium, magnesium, and sulfur; and micronutrients of boron, copper, chlorine, iron, manganese, molybdenum, and zinc are supplied in the soil. The Root Warrior has been engineered to make it easier for the root system to absorb these 16 elements in container gardens.
